Thailand outlined separate screening lanes as a contingency, with no activation yet

Officers at Thailand’s land, sea and air immigration checkpoints were reminded about hygiene precautions, especially when processing arrivals from areas reporting infections. Nopasin Poolsawat, identified by Nation TV as Thailand’s Immigration Bureau commissioner and a police lieutenant general, described this to the Nation reporting team. The publication is dated 7 October.

Separate screening lanes for passengers from affected countries were a contingency if the situation worsened. Activation would follow additional measures from Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health. The ministry could also order quarantine after immigration clearance. Officers were ready to implement those directions; no special measures had been announced at the interview.

The English account by Thai newsroom The Nation, explicitly says separate lanes were not yet active. It relies on the same interview, not an independent second confirmation. This research has not obtained a complete order. Earlier health-service preparedness and implementation of additional restrictions are distinct.

Nation TV: 7 October, 11:32:00 UTC+7, modified 11:36:58; Irkutsk 12:32:00 and 12:36:58. The Nation: 12:54:00 UTC+7, modified 13:10:59; Irkutsk 13:54:00 and 14:10:59. UTC means Coordinated Universal Time. Thai page metadata and visible publication date indicate 2026 (Thai year 2569); its body says 2568 (2025). That discrepancy is unresolved; exact interview time unestablished. Sources added on 8 October.
