Around 90 contacts may have been isolated as early as October 1

A meeting of security and administrative agency heads took place in Irkutsk on the evening of October 1, according to People of Baikal. The publication cited a source close to the security services.

Interviewees also said that officers from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) accompanied ambulance staff transporting Shipilova’s contacts. They estimated that around 90 people were placed in quarantine at a coronavirus treatment center that day.

No meeting minutes, escort order or anonymized list of those isolated has been published. The figure of 90 therefore remains an early source estimate rather than a verified register.

A later report gave 197 identified contacts. These figures come from different reports and do not represent numbers of ill people.
