Indonesia strengthened health surveillance at airports and ports
On 5 October, Aji Muhawarman, head of Indonesia’s health-ministry Bureau of Communication and Public Information, described increased border-health preparedness. Indonesian news agency ANTARA published his statement.

Airport and seaport measures, including in Bali, cover SATUSEHAT Health Pass declarations (Indonesia’s health-declaration system), symptom checks, vessel assessments and rodent-and-flea surveillance. Symptomatic travelers may be referred to designated hospitals. These are the official’s descriptions; a complete order was not obtained.
His statement about no specific international alert referred to 5 October. Reporter Benedikta Desideria also obtained his text-message responses. It predates the 7 October statement about informing countries.
ANTARA publication: 6 October, 05:47:53 UTC+7; 5 October, 22:47:53 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time); 6 October, 06:47:53 Irkutsk. Statement time and photography date unestablished. Added on 8 October.
