The Kremlin advised relying on Rospotrebnadzor’s information

On October 5, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov urged reliance on information from Rospotrebnadzor, Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing. Kremlin comments and remarks by Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Kobzev were relayed in an overview by DW (Deutsche Welle), Germany’s international broadcaster.

Kobzev outlined inspection findings. Individual test reports and commission records have not been published in the collected material, so public statements are not treated as substitutes for primary medical documents.

The same reporting also discussed Shipilova’s travels and the theory of a laboratory source. Epidemiologist Mikhail Favorov commented on the possibility of such infection as an expert, rather than as someone involved in examining the patient.
