Hong Kong specifies isolation criteria after travel to Irkutsk Oblast
In a 12 October letter, Dr Albert Au, writing for Hong Kong’s Centre for Health Protection, sets reporting criteria: radiological pneumonia, no pathogen found in preliminary testing, and travel to Irkutsk Oblast within two weeks before symptoms. Such patients should enter an isolation ward for further investigation.
This clarifies the previously reported measures; it is not quarantine for all arrivals.
Letter dated 12 October; no publication time stated. Added 14 October.
