Armenian commission holds first meeting on Irkutsk situation

The interdepartmental advisory commission established by Armenia’s prime minister’s decision has held its first meeting. It discussed preventing infection from entering Armenia from the Irkutsk region and spreading domestically, Armenpress reports.

Mariam Tsatryan, the Armenian health minister’s press secretary, said the ministry remained in constant contact with Rospotrebnadzor (Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) and WHO (World Health Organization). The agency’s English version quotes her: “According to the information received, the situation is under control.”

Tsatryan described monitoring and anti-epidemic measures as necessary. The article gives no specific new restrictions or meeting minutes. It reports the commission’s work and does not confirm plague.
