Mongolia ordered stronger border monitoring while keeping crossings open

Mongolia’s Ministry of Health reported a low risk assessment on 6 October. The ministry, customs and national zoonotic-disease, infectious-disease and public-health centres participated under joint Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister order A/218/134.

The zoonotic-disease centre was instructed to obtain regular official information from the Irkutsk institute and monitor international reports daily. Customs was instructed to strengthen entry-point control, preparedness and information exchange. Selenge province’s crossings continued operating normally with health surveillance.

The ministry also described an emailed Russian reply saying the suspected plague case was unconfirmed. It did not publish that email or laboratory records.

The page displays 6 October, 07:43:00 without a time zone. This supplements the previously included broadcaster’s report of 7 October: the ministry’s original is dated 6 October. It was found on 8 October and is not presented as a new measure taken that day.
