Macao strengthens screening after travel to Irkutsk Oblast

On 12 October, Macao’s Health Bureau announced enhanced fever screening. Arrivals who visited Irkutsk Oblast within 14 days must declare this to border health staff and undergo the arranged medical assessment.

Clinicians should promptly report unexplained pneumonia following such travel within 14 days before symptoms and arrange testing. The bureau assesses overall risk to Macao as low. These are precautions, not confirmation of plague.
