Observation ended for more than 90% of contacts; almost 5,000 tests found no dangerous pathogens
On October 7, Rospotrebnadzor, Russia’s Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, reported that the preventive measures had been completed, more than 90% of contacts had been released from medical observation and almost 5,000 tests had detected no dangerous pathogens.
The number of tests cannot be treated as the number of people: one person may have been tested repeatedly. This investigation has not obtained an anonymized contact map or individual reports.
The expanded statement also said the employee had been vaccinated and had immunity to the infections she worked with. Vaccine names, administration dates and supporting documents have not been published in the collected source material.
The agency did not confirm laboratory accidents. Meanwhile, the final cause of death has not been established by an available independent document. The World Health Organization, the United Nations health agency, continued to request details.
